#54 Sean Kemp, R4 Today

John Humphries and Sean Kemp discussed politicians and photo opportunities, prompted by an image of Putin in a mini submarine. The discussion turned to Cameron in particular and British politicians in general and how they cannot be seen to be travelling or living luxuriously . Two OPs deployed in quick succession by Sean,

"When they do try and sort of do the 'oh I'm being and ordinary person' thing they are not actually treated like an ordinary person,  they and do the like ordinary things like read the paper and have some crisps..."

It might be argued that it was correct usage in contrasting politicians and "ordinary people", but in this case Sean seemed to be accepting the distinction.
